Hockey Game with Audrey

Jack LOVED the hockey game and sharing his french fries with Audrey. It's a new era for the swimmers Reynolds, Smitty and Berube.

Adventures with Jack

Chasing Dragonflies

Where's Jack?

Jack loves his Fire Chief costume - especially the water-squirting fire extinguisher that came with it.

Jack and Daddy

Jack loves to drive his trucks on the road he drew on the patio.

Family Dersch in Town!

Jack was very excited that his godparents, Hans and Jules, and his godcousins, Hunter and Helena, were coming to stay with us. He had to get ready by baking them a chocolate cake (takes after his Mimi).
Jack loved playing with the big kids, and we all had such a wonderful time.

Playdate with Emory

Jack and I met Katie, Emory and Addison at the arboretum on Friday and had a great time. Jack loves to feed the Koi and quickly finished his bag, and Emory was sweet to give him a little more. At lunch, Jack ran off to one of the playhouses and just after "Mommy, look at me!" he fell from the top of it. Thank goodness Katie was Supermommy and had everything we would ever need in her bag. After a little chewable Motrin and ice, he felt much better. I think it was Emory's tickles that was the best cure. Jack had such a great time that he fell asleep before we left the parking lot, and Dutch is always happy to take a nap with Jack.

Football Star

Our neighbor, Kathy, came back from a tradeshow with a present for Jack that she knew Ryan would especially love - a University of Texas football that plays the UT fight song. Jack loves it, and Ryan said it could be worse - it could be an Aggie. :) Jack loves football and plays with it all the time. I'm just not too sure how much longer the fight song will be working.

Playdate with Charlotte

The only reason that Jack wanted to go to school today was that his friend, Charlotte, was going to come home with us after school. Jack thinks I wait in the parking lot for him while he is at school, so this morning, he said that he'd wait with me. They were so cute. Jack and Charlotte talked all the way home, and Jack was happy that her car seat was next to him. Charlotte saw something outside, and Jack asked me to roll down her window so she could see it. Then when we came home, he ran to pick her out a race car to play with. It was his special race car, the one that used to be Brandon's, so Charlotte must be very special to get to play with it. :)

Jack the Photographer

Jack loves to take pictures. Here are a few of his favorite things: Daddy, Dutch and Cocoa and Frosty. (Earlier he had been in his room reading Curious George to Frosty.)

Movie Star

Jack loves to wear Daddy's sunglasses and look through his wallet for money. Two seconds after these pictures were taken, Ryan gave Jack his own wallet and sunglasses. If you look closely, you can see the traces of yellow permanent market on his forehead and blue permanent marker on his elbow. Thankfully, the red and black from his shoulder down to his toes came off a little easier.

Cabin Fever

After being cooped up for a few days, Jack had to make up for lost time. He painted with his favorite colors - red, blue and dirt. Tied a rope around the leaf blower and thought I'd like to see the "log" he caught. Then after I answered the phone, I discovered that his dumptruck needed gas (laundry detergent). I guess I should be happy that he actually put some in the wash even if it was easily 17 scoops. Daddy was nice enough to clean it up all while learning patience. :)

Mimi's Care Package

Jack and I have been sick for a few days, so we missed out on school and the SMU vs UNT game, but the good news is that we are now all caught up on Little Bear, Franklin, Little Einsteins and Backyardigans. I knew he was feeling better when he made Mimi a care package - Limes, Camera, Diego light, ball, Cranky the Crane, shoes and Hershey Syrup.

Extraaa A

If there seems to be an extra A here and there in the posts, it is because Jack took a pen and popped off all the keys on the keyboard. It took 2 days to find all the keys and proved to be a memory test of where they all go. Although it is all back together, the A key seems to be stuck. :)

Christmas Dilemma

Jack and I were talking about Christmas coming up, and he told me that he didn't like Santa - only Frosty. Hmmmm....

Summer Trip to Colorado

This summer we went to Durango to visit Ryan's best friend Brad. Here are some pictures:

Odds and Ends

"Do you want to see my pee pee?"

These days, Jack is very proud of his performance in the bathroom. Whenever he is successful, he runs to us and asks, "do you want to see my pee pee?" Of course, we run to see it and cheer and then have a party complete with party hats (crazy ski hats) and dancing. Since Ryan already left for work, he wasn't able to come see, so Jack decided to save it for him when he gets home. :)

The little gentleman

Since Jack woke up at 6 am this morning, I thought he would be ready for a nap after I picked him up from school. I went to Chick-Fil-A to get nuggets for him because I thought he'd eat a couple and then fall asleep on the way home. Jack said they were too spicy, so we ended up at McDonald's to get new nuggets. Jack got a second wind, so we went to the playground on the way home and met two new friends. After Foster, the 4 year-old brother was mean and threw away Juliana's, the 3 year-old little girl's cup in the trash can, Jack ran to the trash can to get it out for her. After I told him not to get it, he thought she'd like his happy meal toy.

Watching The Rain

At 6:00 am this morning, Jack woke us up to come into his room and look at the rain on his skylight. "Did you see that lightning, Daddy?" "That's pretty lightning, Mommy." He is such a sweetie. It was a special moment with him.

SMU Football

Monday (Labor Day) was the first SMU football game. The Mustangs played the Texas Tech Raiders, and Jack had a blast despite the rain. He loves to yell for the players, dance at halftime and see Peruna, the pony. He's quickly learning the art of heckling from his Daddy. As you can see from the picture, he used his hand binoculars to watch the game.
