Our 10-Year Anniversary

Ryan and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary this June by doing something we've never done before - The Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We first did the ride-along experience and went 3 times around the track with a professional driver and reached 175 mph. I even had road grit fly in my eyes. Then it was our turn behind the wheel. You drive behind a professional driver. Ryan went 142 mph and I drove 140 mph. It was exhilarating and terrifying all at once. I never seemed to be able to get within one foot of the concrete wall that they want you to do. It was a great weekend. Ryan got to drive the Jack car (Jack Daniels) and I drove the #10 car - Valvoline. It was just perfect.

Lunch with Mary and Roz

After Jack's 1st Day of School, we met Roz and Mary for lunch. I worked with them right out of school in their sports promotion firm. Jack insisted on wearing his hunting fedora His hat was a gift from our stone masons, Ismet and Xhevdet, who are from Kosovo. As you can see, he is very proud of it. While at lunch, Jack was playing on Mary's phone and called Everson Walls, a former Dallas Cowboy. It was a very short conversation. :) It was such a big day that he took a nap! What a rarity! When he woke up, he was ready to go to Mimi's to go swimming! It was a great day!

Jack's First Day of School

Monday was Jack's 1st Day of School, and he did great. Even though it was only one hour for the first day, his teacher said that he worked on a project and helped the little ones stop crying. He is so sweet.

I was more nervous than he was, but thankfully our neighbors, Erich and Robyn, gave him tongs with an LED light that makes gummies glow, and I promised him that we'd get gummies after school.
