All the holiday excitement tuckered Jack out. He decided to snuggle up next to Dutch and fell asleep. Of course, Dutch moved before I got the camera, but I just let Jack take a nap on the floor.

Christmas!
Christmas with a 3-year-old is so much fun! Jack was so excited on Christmas Eve that he couldn't go to sleep. He left out cookies and hot chocolate for Santa and left carrots for Rudolph. On Christmas morning he woke up at 6:30 AM and was so excited that Santa had come and given him a bistro grille and a tool workshop. Jack took his drill and then we headed over to Mimi's house which is our family tradition. We had bloody marys and mimosas, blueberry muffins and lots of goodies. Mimi gave Jack a Jeep Hurricane for Christmas! Santa pales in comparison to Mimi. :) Good thing we brought our trailer so that we could take it home. Jack is now a Master at going forwards and backwards and his favorite radio station (that actually works) is of course, JACK FM!

School Christmas Pageant
After an outbreak of head lice in Jack's class, Jack who was to be a wise man got to be in the starring role as Joseph at his school's Christmas pageant. He was the better choice anyway. :)When he first walked up on the stage, he said, "Look, Mommy! There's Charlotte!" Charlotte is his friend who is in the older class and is the tiny little Christmas tree you see in the middle. Jack's teacher said he was a wonderful Joseph.

No more Diapers!
Today, Jack woke up and said, "I don't want to wear diapers anymore." So instead of going to school, we celebrated and went to Northpark to get "big boy" underwear, feed the ducks and have a special lunch at McDonald's. We always knew that it would just be his decision - everything else has to be his decision! :) My sister says he needs a T-shirt that says "Warning: Type A" I wonder where he gets that?

Jack Turns 3!
The rain and the cold meant the party was now inside. It was chaos but so much fun! All the boys who were invited were either stuck out of town or sick, so it was just Jack and all his girlfriends. He LOVED it! The pony was late because it got stuck in the mud and then got lost to our house, but when Bandit did show up, everyone got a ride. Jack said that the pony came from the football game. (I did order a black pony because he loved Peruna at SMU so much). Jack was also SO EXCITED that Diego came to his birthday party and gave him a turtle that he had rescued. Jack named his turtle Keiko which is what his word for turtle when he first made up his own language. More pictures are coming... I have to get the CD from my neighbor who took most of the pictures because I was running around keeping all the 3 year-olds occupied. :)

Thanksgiving in Connecticut
Every year, we go to Connecticut to Thanksgiving. Jack loved playing with his great grandparents and with all his cousins. While Mommy was running the 5-mile race, Daddy drank beer (no bloody marys this time) and ate the infamous Hamilton scrambled eggs with potatoes while Jack taught his cousins how the Cowboys play football.

Quick Thinking
When I pick Jack up from school at lunch, he likes to roll in the grass and jump off the 3-stair entrance to the church with his friend, Wes. The other day, while jumping off the steps, Jack noticed that there was a tiny firetruck on the steps. When I told him to put it back because someone must have left it there, he said, "Mimi left it for me."

Trick or Treat!
Jack showing us his Superman pose.
Jack with Mimi's dogs Thunder and Boomer. The girls love it when Jack visits.
Jack with his aunt, YoYo. We went to visit YoYo at her work because all of Southwest Airlines does Halloween in a big way. Jack didn't recognize her and wouldn't give her a kiss until after she took off her wig and makeup. Jack also wanted to show off the bucket he made earlier that day at school.
Jack at his first trick-or-treating stop - Mimi's house. He filled his first bucketful here.
Our neighbors Andy and Freddy flexing their muscles with Superman.
Jack and his friend , Aubrey (tinkerbell). They went trick-or-treating together and giggled at every house.
Jack had the best time trick-or-treating. It was the first year he really understood the concept, and he didn't want to stop until he had "all the candy." His dinner ended up being 5 lollipops and 1 cheesestick. When one neighbor asked him "Who are you?" Jack said his full name with such gusto that he was as much as a superhero as Superman.
