Summer of Swim Lessons

Jack went from not wanting to get "his eyebrows wet" to swimming freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke. He even tries to do his own version of the butterfly while on his back. He says he wants to be an Olympic swimmer just like Michael Phelps. :) And last night while we were watching the Olympics (the reason I've been lax on doing the blog) he said that he wanted to play volleyball and have Mommy and Daddy watch him on TV and yell, "Go, Jack Go." We told him that if he were in the Olympics that we would be in the stands.

4th of July Parade!

This year was the first year that Jack was IN the parade! It was so exciting! Jack was thrilled to see the Donica's at the parade. When he saw Eric, he stopped his Jeep and was going to get out to see him, but since the parade had just started I told him to keep driving so the parade could go. Then later down the route, we saw Drew and Corinne and this time no one was around, so we could stop and take pictures. (Jack had passed the slow people in front of us. :)
Jack had a great time, but it was very hot. The snow cone at the end helped. It was a great 4th of July!

Jack's First Swimming Lesson

Fannie and Silver gave Jack his first swimming lesson. Fannie is the sister of Ryan's SMU swim Coach (Eddie Sinnott) and Silver is Eddie's daughter. (Named Silver Ann since she was born on her grandparents silver anniversary)
Jack has the kick down, but doesn't like to get his eyes wet.
His favorite part was eating the Oreos when it was over.

Jack Sunscreened the Car!

(Yes the windshields too!)

As I was gathering everything that we needed to go do our errands, I came out and saw that Jack sunscreened the car - inside and outside plus Dutch and Cocoa. "I did it for you, Mommy" Needless to say, the car wash was our first stop. :)

Jack's First Black Eye

Jack loves to play baseball. After he hit the ball, he spun around two times and then hit his face on the chair which gave him his first black eye.

Summer Playdate with Charlotte

Now that summer is here, we often go to the spray park. Jack loves to play with his friend, Charlotte and hopes to be in her class next year. (Charlotte is actually older than Jack.)

Daddy's Day

This weekend, Ryan and I celebrated our 11-year wedding anniversary. We spent our anniversary and Daddy's Day out on the boat. No fish were biting but Jack went tubing for the first time! Once we get the film developed, we'll post the pictures.
