Last Day of School

June 4th was Jack's last day of school. It couldn't have been any better since he was line leader for the last day. He gave his teacher Miss Renee a hug goodbye and is excited to be in the big kids class next year. Jack loves to give hugs and his friend, Arabella, loves to give hugs too.

Fun Thing That Jack Said

When Jack had his outer ear infection, he was very aware of keeping his left ear dry. He was playing on the steps of Mimi's pool and jumped to the bottom step, so I asked if he got his ear wet. He pointed to his right ear and said, "This ear got wet, but it didn't go through" So I was happy to hear that it didn't go through to his left side. :)

Lani!

After my mom had to put her dog, Boomer, to sleep, her other dog, Thunder, stopped eating. So mom got Thunder a dog - Lani! She is 8 months old, and we got her from this great family whose schedule meant they weren't home a lot. Lani and Thunder love to come over and visit. We were also dogsitting for a neighbor, so we had 5 dogs playing in the back yard. Jack loved it. It took a week, but Thunder started eating and soon they will be best friends.

Release the Butterflies!

After Jack got his haircut, he came back and couldn't wait to check on his butterflies. He loved that they crawled on his finger. Later we took the boat out and Jack caught 3 catfish. While we were there, he saw a butterfly and thought that it was one of his and that it followed him to the lake.

Butterflies!

Sorry it's been so long since the last posting. It seems like there was one thing after another. Jack came back with an intestinal souvenir from Mexico. Then he got croup. When the Doctor was telling us what we can do to help with the coughing, he mentioned steam from the shower. What was funny is that Jack said, "The steam didn't work." And after the Dr. told him to try popsicles, Jack thought that was the best thing ever! The popsicles (and the steroid) worked. Then Jack caught a virus and had a fever and said that it felt like "bugs were eating him." Thankfully, all that is over and we are just left with an outer ear infection. The tough part is not getting his ear wet for 10 days.

During this time, our caterpillars from www.insectlore.com turned into butterflies. We planted all butterfly plants in the elevated flower bed, and Jack loved releasing them into his garden.

Mexico!

Three days after we got back from Disneyworld, we went to Mexico. The night before we left, Jack had a fever and when we arrived at the hotel the next morning, he had bumps all over. Turns out that he had a "classic, breakthrough case of chicken pox!" Jack's favorite things were the iguanas and ordering pineapple juice from the swim-up bar. :)
